Our Maasai team welcomes you to our beautiful cultural camp, situated on 200 private acres in the middle of the vast savannah at the base of the Loita Hills, just a 45 minute drive from the world famous Masai Mara National Reserve. You’ll find here a chance to feel the true spirit of the Maasai. Our land is in the path of animal migration from the unfenced areas of Masai Mara and surrounding conservancies, so long walks into the hills will afford the chance to spot some wildlife.

Choose how to spend your days, with energetic trekking in the hills and plains, peaceful relaxation in the shady camp, heading out with the herders to look after livestock, or driving safaris in Maasai Mara. So many ways to enjoy living with nature and our special connection with ancestral lands. A variety of accommodation options are available to suit every traveler.

All accommodations come with 'Included Activities' as part of your stay at Maji Moto Maasai Cultural Camp. Optional experiences can be booked at additional cost.
Traditional Maasai Manyattas
Experience our magical Maasai Manyattas (mud huts) built by the women of the Maji Moto Maasai Cultural Camp women’s village in the same way they build their own homes using natural materials from the Loita Hills.
We’ve upgraded the traditional designs with the comforts of solar lighting, stone flooring, memory foam beds and private terraces. All rooms share flush camp toilets and hot mineral water showers to make your stay in the natural landscapes of Maji Moto even more enjoyable.

There are 4 Manyatta Cottages:
- 2 are fitted with one Double Bed and a private Terrace
- 2 include three Single Beds with a Terrace shared by the two rooms

Luxury Cottage
Enjoy a truly indulgent experience in our luxury ensuite cottage, which blends comfort with tradition, and sophistication with nature.
Built using entirely locally sourced materials in the “cob” method of construction and featuring a makuti grass roof, this beautiful cottage showcases local Kenyan craftsmanship and elements of Maasai heritage throughout.
Wake up to spectacular views of the Loita Hills with morning tea and coffee served on the expansive terrace. Relax and unwind in the spacious bathroom with an open-air bathtub, robes, slippers, organic bath products and hot mineral-water showers. Enhance your stay even further with an optional candlelit dinner, served on your private terrace as the sun sets over the hills on the horizon.

Tent Camping
Enjoy a comfortable camping experience at the base of the Loita Hills in our large camp tents (10ft by 10ft by 7ft tall). These safe, cozy, all weather tents are perfect for travelers looking for an exciting way to connect with nature.
All gear, including tent, mattress and bedding is provided in our simple living accommodation amid the aloe vera and euphorbia trees. Guests share the flush camp toilets and hot mineral water showers as you relax after enjoying our included Maasai activities.

Self Camping
Our most basic accommodation option, in which you provide your own tent and cater your own meals, is a great way to get access to our wonderful camp in its simplest essence. If fully inclusive catering and traditionally inspired Maasai accommodations aren’t the experience you’re looking for, enjoy back to basics living with self-catered camping.
With this basic accommodation option, we do not provide camping or cooking gear, food or dining room staff. However, you will have full campground security, campfire, shared flush camp toilets, hot mineral water showers and daily guided cultural activities included in your nightly rate. If needed, we can provide a covered space for cooking and dining, and we can provide ala carte meals purchased separately in our restaurant.

We have space for any number of guests with their own tents.

Olpul Bush Camping (1 Night)
The ultimate Maasai camping experience! Trek across the spectacular Loita Plains to a sacred Maasai bush campsite. Experience the wild in all its splendour, sleeping under the stars on leafy beds of a local plant that smells like sage, prepared by the warriors after enjoying a delicious roasted goat feast in the traditional Olpul way. Gather at the campfire among warriors and elders as they share their songs, blessings and local brew for an unforgettable evening.

This exclusive Maasai camp experience is a highlight of most travellers who stay with us. We can accommodate any number of guests in Olpul bush camp.
Sleep on a traditional hand-made bed of leaves with fully insulated sleeping bags provided. A tented bush toilet is available at the edge of the camp.
This is a great option for a one night stay, or as one night within your multi night stay.
